The Biomaterial Tracking & Management (BTM) Core at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital manages biobanking software needs for both employees and the public. The core contracts with software provider Daedalus Software, Inc, to provide BTM software with modules for biofluid, tissue, nucleic acid and microorganism samples. The software provides unique IDs for patients, patient family groups and samples. BTM provides graphical storage representation to facilitate sample placement and retrieval as well as providing shipping, reporting and custom configuration (via drop-down lists) modules.
Cincinnati Children’s Division of Biomedical Informatics (BMI) hosts both the BTM software and the underlying database. Our team manages all user accounts, conducts software training, develops custom upload processes, performs data migration from legacy systems and represents Cincinnati Children’s interest to DSI for software upgrades.
Additional information regarding BTM services can be found here.
