Project Requests

Requests Involving Clinical Data/Systems

The demand for informatics support of clinical research has been escalating. To ensure that the needs of investigators are met as promptly as possible, balancing the constraints of institutional resources and strategic priorities, the IT Executive Steering Committee now requires requests for research projects involving clinical data or interfacing with clinical systems to be submitted using an online project request form. Effective immediately, use this form to request services for research projects or proposals that will require any of the following:

  • Access to clinical data
  • Interfaces with clinical systems
  • Integration of clinical and research/QI components
  • Preparation of a budget and narrative to support use of Epic, i2b2, or other clinical systems to collect data or to serve as a data source in a research grant application

Once your request has been entered, you will be contacted within two business days regarding your submission.

Please submit the online form even if you are not sure whether your request should go to BMI or Information Services (IS); IS and BMI staff will review the forms to be sure they get to the right place. If you are not sure whether you need to complete the form, are not sure who should complete it, or have other questions, please contact Jason Napora or Keith Marsolo.
