Thank you for your interest in the Biomedical Informatics Graduate Program at the University of Cincinnati and Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center. Please see our program brochure and visit our program website for details on faculty research, course descriptions, and how to apply. I also encourage you to look at our research page at Cincinnati Children's.
As an avalanche of data and increasingly sophisticated technology change the way biomedical research is conducted, demand for researchers and health professionals trained in the field is rapidly increasing. Our faculty, students and staff use computational methods to solve pressing health problems. They are harnessing biological and clinical data to transform medical research and clinical care for kids and adults.
The University of Cincinnati and Cincinnati Children's have a rich history of discovery and innovation, with expertise in genetic, environmental, and developmental origins of disease. Research breakthroughs have included development of the live oral polio vaccine, the first practical heart-lung machine, artificial lung surfactant, the rotavirus vaccine and development of Benadryl.
Our graduate program has two primary tracks: bioinformatics and clinical informatics. It provides students a unique opportunity to learn and work at premier institutions within one of the nation's largest combined medical campuses. By joining our program, you will benefit from direct connections to patient care; a state-of-the-art computing infrastructure; supportive faculty members; strong support for early-career scientists; and a great location in Cincinnati, named the best city for recent college graduates.
