Purchasing/Installing SAS 9.2 and/or JMP & JMP Genomics on Windows

Instructions for requesting and installing SAS on Windows.

Minimum Requirements

To install SAS, JMP or JMP Genomics, you must meet the following requirements:

Your computer must be running Windows XP.
Your computer must have 512MB of memory.
Your computer must have 5.0 GB of free hard disk space.
You must have administrative rights; if you don't, call the Cincinnati Children's Service Desk (6-4100) to arrange for someone to be at your desk to assist with the installation.

Preparing for the installation

1. Send an email to software@cchmc.org with the following information:

Name
Department
Budget number
Business director's name
Operating system (Windows XP)
Software requested (e.g. SAS Option 1 or JMP/JMP Genomics)
Asset tag for the machine on which the software will be installed (for example, P10-9999)

If you meet the requirements outlined above, you will be sent the license file(s) for the product(s) you requested. You will not be able to use any of these products without the required license file(s).

1. Make sure you have at least 5.0 GB available hard disk space.

2. Close all open applications.

Running the SAS installer

1. In the address bar in windows Explorer type: \\bmisasdepot01

2. Double-click the Sas Software Depot folder:

3. Double-click Setup.exe:

4. The SAS Software installer will launch:

5. Select your language and click OK:

6. Make sure Install SAS Software is selected then Click Next:

7. Select the most current Order number which would be the greatest number and click Next:

8. If this is a new install you will be presented with the following screen, click Next:

9. First Click Clear All then select Products to install:

a. If installing SAS Education Analytical Suite select SAS Foundation

b. If installing JMP or JMP Genomics select JMP Genomics and skip to step 11a.

c. If installing both then select both, you will need both SAS and JMP licenses for this.

10a. Click Browse for the SAS license file that was emailed to you and click Next:

Important

If you also purchased JMP and/or JMP Genomics, you should have received a second license file. Do NOT select it here. You will need it in the next step.

10b. If the correct components are listed, click Next. Otherwise, contact software@cchmc.org to report that you received the incorrect license file.

11a. If you had Selected JMP Genomics you will be presented with another screen asking you to Browse for the JMP license file. Click Browse to locate the file and then click Next: otherwise skip to step 12.

11b. If the correct components are listed, click Next. Otherwise, contact software@cchmc.org to report that you received the incorrect license file.

12. Click Clear All to have only English language installed and then click Next:

To begin the installation, click Start:

13. If you are presented with the following screen click Next:

14. Finally review the Deployment Summary and then click Start:

15. Before the systems requirement wizard begins you may be prompted to reboot the computer if necessary, please do so at this point by click Finish and then restart the installation process (you must do this step otherwise the installation will fail):
