Description

OCS (Open Computer and Software Inventory - Next Generation) is a free, open-source software. It is designed to keep track of the computer configuration and software installed on the network. It is made of various parts such as:

a) collection agent

b) database server

c) communication server

d) administration console

e) deployment server

Collection agents are installed in all the systems that are to be inventoried. The rest of the modules could be installed in a single server, or they could be split across several servers.

Installation

To install the OSC collection agent on your system, please read the installation manual. Use ribosome.cchmc.org as the communication server for internal network clients, and mannose.cchmc.org for DMZ clients. Use port 80 (http).
