Database Servers
Servers are available for hosting MySQL, Microsoft SQL server, Oracle and FileMaker databases.
The Division of Biomedical Informatics supports several database systems including FileMaker® Pro, Microsoft® SQL Server®, MySQL, Oracle® and Postgres.
Microsoft SQL Server infrastructure
Our SQL server infrastructure includes development, testing, staging and production servers. All components currently have Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Standard installed including reporting services. Data are backed up every night with a regular two-month backup schedule.
We are testing a cluster-based setup, which should be available in a few months to ensure higher level of redundancy and protection of the data.
Oracle infrastructure
We are currently running Oracle 10g in RAC (Real Application Clusters) Enterprise setup. Our servers include:
- Production cluster (two-node cluster, dual-core, 32GB RAM each)
- Development cluster (two-node cluster, dual-core, 32GB RAM each)
- i2b2 ETL Oracle server (eight-core, 32GB RAM standalone computer)
- i2b2 production Oracle cluster (two-node cluster, quad-core, 16GB RAM each)
MySQL infrastructure
Our MySQL infrastructure includes a number of servers:
- Internal failover two-node cluster
- DMZ failover two-node cluster
- Several standalone servers
FileMaker infrastructure
We are currently hosting FileMaker server version 9.
